Abstrakt:

Plasma activated water (PAW) is formed during an exposure of water to the cold plasma which causes chemical changes in water. Air plasmas produce reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) e.g. hydrogen peroxide, nitrite, nitrate, peroxynitrite, hydroxyl radical, nitrogen monoxide radical, etc.). These RONS in PAW are responsible for the rapid germination of seeds, enhancement of the plant growth, destruction of bacteria and other germs harmful to the growth of the plants. PAW has also a role as a fertilizing agent for plants. In this study various types
of PAWs were generated by transient spark ( TS ) discharge with water electrospray and by glow discharge GD ) with water cathode at atmospheric pressure and their effects on barley ( Hordeum vulgare L.)
plant growth were investigated.
