General

Informal but very focused workshop providing multidisciplinary approach of plasma physicists, microbiologists, medical doctors
and engineers. Such an interaction will have an important impact on broadening the scientific and technological knowledge in
this novel multidisciplinary area, as well as on practical applications of plasmas in biology, medicine, and food security.

 Objective
Plasma (ionized gas) has recently found many breakthrough applications in biology, medicine, and security. The goal of this
workshop is to build on the recent achievements, gather experts in plasma physics and technology, biology, medicine, and
food security, and foster their interaction. Founding of such mutually beneficial collaborative group would provide a unique
opportunity for multidisciplinary research initiatives in the applications of plasma to decontaminate water, air, food, surfaces
and medical instruments, selectively kill micro-organisms in vivo without damaging living mammalian tissues, and in therapeutic
processes of blood coagulation, wound healing, surgery or triggering the apoptosis pathways for cancer cells.
