Call for Applications: Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs)
Enlight Thematic Network PLANTED

Duration: 1–3 Weeks

We invite you to submit applications for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) under Enlight Thematic Network PLANTED. The main purpose of PLANTED network is to initiate and enforce the multidisciplinary cooperation between research groups of Comenius University Bratislava (CUB), Ghent University (UGent) and Tartu University (UT). Scientific aim of the formed network is (i) to address the negative environmental and health impacts of water pollution by organic contaminants of emerging concern (e. g. micropollutants and pharmaceuticals).

The STSMs for a period of 1 to 3 weeks are an important part of the Planted network activities to foster the collaboration, knowledge exchange, and skill development among young researchers.

Purpose of STSMs:
STSMs provide an opportunity for researchers to:

  • Conduct collaborative research
  • Learn new techniques or methodologies
  • Access specific equipment, data, or expertise
  • Strengthen existing partnerships or initiate new ones
Eligibility:
Applicants should be actively engaged in research relevant to the mission topic and the STSMs are focused on early-career researchers. Application Requirements:
Interested applicants should submit a one-page (A4) document outlining:
  • The scientific objectives of the mission
  • Planned activities and methodology
  • Expected outcomes and impact
  • Host institution and contact person
  • Proposed dates and duration
Selection Criteria:
Applications will be evaluated based on:
  • Scientific quality and feasibility
  • Relevance to the applicant’s research
  • Clarity and coherence of the research plan
Funding:
The funding covers the travel and accommodation costs. Details will be provided upon request or in the confirmation of selection.
